this is a GOOD show! it was a landmark for a band who's history is filled with landmarks. the '94 halloween show is good. two great phish sets sandwich an amusing set covering the beatles white album. it was the first of four historical "musical costumes!" it is not, however the best of them. if you want to hear an album cover that is truer to the original, check out vol. 14 & 15. "quadrophenia" and "remain in light", show just how technical this band can get. the white album(abeit an astounding rendition of while my guitar gently weeps) just seems like they were having fun with it, rather than trying to get it right, and it is just that-fun!

I'm sorry this isn't really a review, but as I read some, but not all of the previous reviews listed here, I began to laugh. Your mockery of phish heads is shallow and not very well thought out. To knock one of the most musically sound rock and roll groups of all time, soley because of the people who follow them says to me, A. That you don't know much about crisp music, and B. That you live a very sheltered life. It may be time for a persona check, because If you saw what all of those supposed "Loser Hippies" that you portrayed in your reviews saw, you may just loose control, eat your words and realize that, "Hey, I have just witnessed one of the most amazing stage shows of all times!" Don't just listen, go see, and I promise you'll go again and again. Welcome back boys! See you on New Years!

Phish is comprised of some very technically profound musicians who enjoy having fun with impersonating other influential musician's styles. And, therein, find there own style. The seem to enjoy having fun with playing this music and performing on stage (hence the vacuum cleaner and trampalenes) which is why the halloween shows proved to be such an enjoyable spectacle. However, the music, although very technically proficient doesn't show a huge amount of originallity. The best Phish moments are the ones amidst a jam where the musicians are forced to breakdown to there own personal interpritations of their musical space-time locations. I have heard this show many times on DAT and saw the show in person and feel that a DVD/CD would have been a much more appropriate release since the visual aspect of the performance is also part of its glory.

I’m not into the “Phish/Allman/DMB/Guster” music scene. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t have anything against their core of fans, or against the music they make. The only thing I can’t figure out is why their songs are so damn long!? HAHA..In any case, I’ve found myself recently exploring othery types of music…I’ve downloaded some live Phish shows, and from what I can hear, they are a good band. They sound very tight. To all HARD CORE PHISH FANS: Please don’t look down upon fans like myself who know only a few Phish songs!

Although not a Phish Head, the few shows I've seen were well worth the money. The fact that they have a diverse and faithful following is because they really do have talent (Zappa did too!). Consider the shock value of their fans equivelent to a dog's shock collar not the electric chair. This album really rocks and if you like the Beatles it is a fresh (and at times mind blowing) spin on a classic. Understand that fun and silliness are paramount with the band and their following and you can smile too.

Some people just don't get "it". Phish is a band for music lovers... not lovers of the 2 1/2 to 3 minute hit single. Listening to Phish takes more brain power, more attention and a love of exploring music with a great band. If you don't get "it", I truly have pity upon you.

this was my 1st phish. a truly amazing show. i was convinced after this show that they are a truly amazing band. the show ended somewhere around 3am. what a great way to spend halloween. i went on to see over 60 shows in 6 years after this one.
